Okay. So, I've been thinking about where to begin this review and what to include since it was a mixed bag for me.

I liked the characters and the plotline till around 250 pages. Remi Ford and Brick Callan share an intense chemistry that makes you want more of them. By this point, it was a slowwwwww burn novel and I was waiting impatiently for something to actually happen — for them to start talking about why they aren't together and what's been bothering Brick for so long that every time Remi seems to come a bit closer, he abandons her and runs in the opposite direction!
They do talk eventually and that's when I started to get a little disappointed with the plotline. The reasons weren't good enough. I was honestly hoping for a really good reason for Brick to behave the way he did since the beginning but he kept disappointing me, especially the part about him marrying Audrey, Remi's best friend.
Well, the book did have a lot of action (you know what I mean) so if you're a person who likes reading spicy books that go over the top — this book is for you. I honestly feel that too much spice derails the story!
Here's what I liked though:
- the complex relationship shared by Remi and her sister, Kimber 🤐
- the description of a few scenes like the one where Remi gets stuck in the snow when she runs off to save her neighbour, Ben Kleckner ❄️
- the description of her art 🎨
- the slow burn between Remi and Brick (until it all erupted and turned into lava) 🥵
Nevertheless, this was a good 3.5/ 5 for me. This was the first Lucy Score book that I read and I'd like to end this review with only two words — not bad!
PS: This could be a perfect book to spice up your romance this Valentine's week! #JustSaying
